Description

This was photographed on the East Lothian coast from the smallest harbour in the United Kingdom, near the Seacliff beach. I wanted to capture Tatallon castle as seen from the North Sea and sunrise provide the perfect angle of light for it. While the narrative is rather simple, the composition is somewhat complex with multiple lines conducting us all the way to the mid-14th-century fortress.

The paper

This photograph is printed on a 100% cotton museum-grade Fine Art Platinum 310gsm Canson paper offering the aesthetic and feel of the original F-Type Baryta Fibre paper, having a true pure white tone without using optical brighteners that are known to affect the longevity of digitally produced images. The surface finish is satin with a slight texture. This paper shows an excellent black density and exceptional grey tones which is perfect for the more discerning black and white as well as colour photographic prints.
