In the heart of the Dollar Glen in Scotland, I discovered this enchanting scene that has captivated my soul for years. However, during a recent workshop in this area, I unlocked the secret to composing it in a photograph and capturing its true essence.

Waterfalls have an innate ability to mesmerize us, but in this extraordinary setting, its allure is magnified. The very environment surrounding this little cascade breathes life into the image, leaving an indelible impact on the beholder. As if reaching out from the moss-covered rocks, the twisted trees dance in harmony with vibrant orange and lush ferns. Rays of golden light pierce through the canopy, casting an ethereal glow upon the scene.

This hidden gem has remained unnoticed for so long, passed by countless wanderers oblivious to its existence. I am fortunate to have stumbled upon its secret, decoding the essence of this waterfall’s allure. It is a blessing bestowed upon me, a reminder that there are treasures waiting to be unravelled, even in the most unexpected corners of our world.

The paper

This photograph is printed on a 100% cotton museum-grade Fine Art Platinum 310gsm Canson paper offering the aesthetic and feel of the original F-Type Baryta Fibre paper, having a true pure white tone without using optical brighteners that are known to affect the longevity of digitally produced images. The surface finish is satin with a slight texture. This paper shows excellent black density and exceptional grey tones, which is perfect for the more discerning black and white as well as colour photographic prints.

The ink
