Review of the Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L II USM Lens

In this episode i am reviewing one of the favourite wedding lenses  for Canon users. This lens and its previous version has always been praised by wedding photographers, offering an amazing image quality and a great Focal Length range.  I have rented this lens for a busy weekend as i had a wedding and 2 fashion shoots back to back. Although this is an EF lens, meaning it is made for Full Frame sensor cameras, i have used it on my Canon 60D and beside the obvious Field of View effect (the 60D is a 1.6x cropped Sensor camera hence the magnification effect), I must admit it is a brilliant lens. Its F2.8 was fantastic and not only enabled me to achieve fabulous bokeh, it let me shoot inside at lower ISO. That being said, I do see the point to acquire a Full Frame sensor camera such as a Canon 5D II, as you are bound to bump the ISO when capturing moving person when covering an inside event. I was sometimes caught up in the moment that unlike my rather cheap 18-135mm lens which offers an Image Stabilisation system, the 24-70mm does not and some of my shots did suffer from camera shake as i did not think of raising the ISO in few occasions.
