Photoshop Layers & Masks explained

In this episode, I responding to numerous requests made to me to do tutorials on Adobe Photoshop. Here I am covering the most important feature of the tool: The Layers and Layer Masks. Working in Photoshop is like making a layer cake:

Each layer brings its value (information) and combined gives you a tasteful masterpiece.

Using different layers as seen here:

When applied to Photography you can use two interesting photos

Original photo with an interesting sky
Original photo with an interesting sky
Interesting photo but a boring blue sky
Interesting photo but a boring blue sky

and give life to a great compelling photograph
